April forum competition topic ideas

Postby alex3410 » Sun Mar 01, 2015 8:00 pm

Hi guys, February's competition has come to an end with a brilliant turn out! Time to get thinking of topics for the next one in April, the current one worked well as it was such an open topic when resulted in a really interesting mix of projects but no harm in going via voting process again to keep things interesting!

If you have any thoughts for a topic post them here and we can then arrange a voting period starting from next week (getting enough messages from feb still  )

The votes can last another week which will then give us all two weeks to arrange any supplies required etc - well that's the plan anyway

Right my suggestion is a repeat of February:
Build a kit, no restrictions on topic or method / medium

Thoughts?

I'd also be happy with another general one - I think make the topic too specific you run the risk of too few entries to make it viable . . .
Its particularly interesting to follow everyone's project when they are so diverse in nature.

I agree with PNP and Carnehan. Keeping it open brings more entries.

I agree with all who have posted before me - keep it open in order to get competitors.

i will be choosing something with the smallest amount of transfers as possible! currently repainting a set of coaches and there is a seemingly endless list of transfers to put on and its driving me up the wall

I thought Febs format worked really well so would vote for that. I'd love to take part this time rather than watching from the sidelines. :)

Well I have a month to get prepared for this one! I'd like a general type too, maybe it could have a theme though? or perhaps a "build something that is red" or any other colour?

Count me in. I'm planning on building a wagon kit of some sort but I'm not decided completely.

I've already decided on my April entry as I need to source some materials before the start date. My choice of build also coincides with what I want to model next on Galgorm Hall so without further ado....

Scratch built low relief block of terraced houses.

There you have it. :P
