Which Train? (HELP NEEDED!)

Postby Disco21 » Thu May 24, 2012 9:48 am

Hi all

Strictley not Models trains, but we're heading off to Worksop (Retford) in July (Sat 21) on Eastcoast Trains having booked tickets - however all seats are indivdual seats and not seated together

Does anyone know how to see/check what type of train we are travelling on (from looking on google EC Trains run a HST or Mallard Carraige Version - both with different layouts!), so I wanted to see where my seats were allocated as my Nan (83yrs old) is travelling and does not want to sit on her own

I had thought about just ringing EC Trains, but not even sure they would know?

thanks in advance
Dave

If you know what service give 'em a ring, they should be able to tell you.

Not sure how accurate it is, but the 125 group's website has a list of East Coast HST diagrams

Also depends what tickets you have. If you have advance purchase tickets you have to sit in the seat thats printed on the reserved seat ticket. Not all advance tickets book by the same person will end up together. My advice being a guard for a toc turn up early and asked the guard if its ok to all sit together and show what tickets you have. Ive known guards who charge people to the next walk on fare just because they are not in correct seat or coach... We are not all like this tho we do try to help

The 1425 from Newcastle starts at Edinburgh and I would say is almost certain to be a 225 rather than a HST.
