I'm wondering if its Olivias seeing how many class 76/77s Hattons now have for sale? Also they have loads of Falcons which Olivias had redone by Heljan as well.

Suggestion being made on the other forum that there is some form of commercial arrangement between Olivias and Hattons for moving unsold stock. Hattons do have a much more prominent profile with more marketing capaility compared with Olivias.

I don't think there is much doubt its Olivias - hattons are selling their GBRF and FGW Dapol 73's and these were exclusive to Olivias. The odd thing is that, like the EM1/2s, they're selling them at substantially less - 30% off. Olivias were also selling off their EM2's on their ebay page at the same price Hattons are now selling them - ie, £40 cheaper than the shop was selling them. (I was watching to see if any EM1s appeared). Overnight, all the listings disappeared.

Sounds like an exercise in freeing up the cashflow.

Unsurprising at that incredibly low price. They are a fantastic runner and an aesthetic stunner. I have three, or it might be four can't remember without checking, sets of them - bought long before this promo.

Hunt around and try to pick one up if you can if they're within your special interest spectrum. Even at £100 plus they are still a bargain.

They had a 2 EPB as well. Now gone. Interesting was that at the time i put the link up, they had 3 in stock. When i clicked on the link to check it worked a few minutes later, all gone. They certainly sold quick. Ebay anyone?

That is a Hattons history item. About five, six, maybe seven years ago that was Hattons price for the discounted 4-cep. This is the model that just has lighting in the powered car and no power connection between the cars. I was interested in this set for ages but it was before Hattons accepted PayPal so a credit card was the only way for international purchase and for some reason I refused to use my card internationally. I believe at GBP69.00 it was the bargain of a lifetime, but it is a bargain long gone in history.

Just two months ago I sold a mint set on Aussie eBay and was hard pressed getting $150.00 when the DCC version was selling at around $400.00. That is a big difference just for a few lights.

It was live tonight. A link was put up on RMweb at around 5:40. I put my order in a 6pm. I've had my order confirmed but not that it was processed. maybe that'll be tomorrow or maybe it won't happen at all. There were some grumbles about a 158 that was on at £49 but jumped to £79 by the time the buyer checked out. Maybe hattons have just got too much to cope with and gremlins are getting in. We'll see.

For reference I think the decoder in this is a ESU V3.5, so check with the DCC reblowing people to see if it can be reblown! A list can be found here for Bachmann factory fitted decoders :-
