Insane price. I'd rather go and buy a mint REAL Hornby Dublo model, it would be significantly cheaper. Or maybe a "Deflector" Athol (factory repair using Duchess of Montrose body; extremely rare!).

I think he means a Duchess with smoke deflectors. The one 'for sale' is without any.

When Hornby Dublo made their model of Duchess of Athol in LMS livery it didn't have smoke deflectors. A very small number were later returned to the factory probably after suffering broken buffer beams but there were no Athol bodies left so a BR Duchess of Montrose body, which had smoke deflectors, was substituted and painted as Duchess of Athol in LMS livery. This model is known in collector circles as a Deflector Athol.

There are other official repairs done like this that are even rarer.

Kernow Model Rail Centre have 32-030DS Bachmann Class 20 Diesel Locomotive number 20 156 in BR Red Stripe Railfreight livery with sound for £170. I believe it has Loksound V5 decoder. Considering a V5 decoder costs about £120, its seems like a good deal! Also Bachmann have a new class 20 out,so the older model is going to sell for less.

Fair bet I am not alone in hoping for an economical 'cascade' of the older models to appear s/h, as keen types who must have lights on their diesels go for the upgrade when the new model becomes available. A second all over green 'thousand horse' on the layout would be proportionate to the other pilot scheme diesel numbers. I never expected to see such rarities as classes 15, 16, 21 and 23 available in RTR, yet there they all are on the layout, variously being allocated break downs and thus needing rescue by a reliable steamer or diesel to drag them 'dead' to Hornsey for fitter attention. This makes for lots of fun loco moves...

Can dried powdered tea from tea bags be used for ground cover, or will it rot?
