Are there anyone here who have got a OO layout in the garden as im thinking of doing a layout and need some advice.

My timber arrived a couple of days ago for for the track so things look like there getting started sooner rather than later........which was nice.
So looks like i'm goona be a bit busy over the coming weeks as i dismanteld my layout that i had on my board so i can use the track on the new layout.

So are you getting rid of your indoor layout, and using all the track in the garden? Will you be using Skaledale stuff or scratchbuilding? How are you operating the points?

I had a layout tacked to a board that had to be stored in my shed that was 7ft x 4ft and could only be set up in the kitchen and i got very fed up with having to keep setting it up and down and wanted something more permenant so the best route was in the garden,as for points i'll just change them by hand as i don't want the hassle of more electrics or air driven things.
Not sure what to do about buildings etc i'll most likely do a mix of both shop bought and scratch.

The rest of the timber arrived yesterday so looks like the time is coming to get started on the garden railway :D

Yeah it's goning to be great to get the work started but i'm still undecided in the track layout as the plan at the moment is to run along the fence line on as you can see in the picture.
Ignore the good bit of MDF at the bottom of the pic thats for my new bench in the shed.

Looks like you may have over done the ballasting a little :wink:
