Property for sale in Story Book Estates, Sherwood, Oregon. No point in having a hornby now chaps this guy makes us all look a wee bit unambitious. A master model maker is selling his hoose and his railway he built himself including all the locos built from scratch. The price ...$6.5m but hey ... how cool does it look.

This Signature Left Intentionally Blank, but since I have written this and I intended to do it, this Signature is intentionally not blank. Paradox or What?

This begs the question - when does a 'model' railway stop being a model and become a 'real' railway?
Re: The Ultimate?
Love the trestle bridge. Riding the train over it - what confidence in his building. As for the rest of the layout - beyond words. Then the scenery ______ amazing!!

Difficult call, my view (though only mine!) is that 5" gauge and above is Model Engineering, not Model Railways, even though it's a model of a railway... Otherwise something like the Ratty or RHDR would also be model railways... In theory...skyblue wrote:This begs the question - when does a 'model' railway stop being a model and become a 'real' railway?
However if you check Wikki they include up to 7 1/4" gauge as well, I suspect due to their American backers who have bigger baseboards (sorry, gardens!)...
