Southern pride emu kits

Anyone built one ? . I'm tempted by their 4TC as the Kernow model centre one is way out of my price range.

Sorry Ken, I've not, but have made a DCkits 4cep. Im not fully familiar with the specifics of the SP kits and how they go together but a friend came round with a 2EPB once and it was a lovely model.
If I'm not mistaken it's a much easier total build than a DCKit. Sides are one piece, but things like handles are a pain to drill (same as dckit), but with any of these things, the devil is in the detail and finishing
Hope that helps?

Other stock we ran that day

Southern Pride kits tend to fit together a bit like the older Triang-Hornby mark 1 coaches, with sides and ends slotting or tabbing into place (with glue required, though).
The sides are usually vinyl overlays with all the livery elements, stuck onto gently curved profile clear plastic sides. this means that all of the windows show as having curved glass in them, whereas BR standard coaches all have flat panes.
Overall, they do come up OK.
SP also did some brass sided kits - I haven't seen those at all.
In either case, you will have to add details to your required standards.

Re: Southern pride emu kits
Strangely enough, I found some built Southern pride kits today in a shop 2nd hand for £20 a coach. There was 3 quarters of a 4CIG which was unpowered and some maroon Mk1s. All needed wotk or had issues with the ride height or missing parts so I did'nt buy any, although it was interesting to actually get a look at them.
None had doors handles or grab handles fitted and the flush sides made them look a bit like super detail Dublo coaches from a distance.
Maybe I'll buy one after Christmas.

Worth keeping an eye on eBay too as they do come up from time to time, both built and unbuilt
