Additions for inclusion in the Other manufacturers list

Post by Bufferstop »

The list is locked and Stickied if you have any additions or corrections to the list please post them in here. If you can copy the format of what is there it will help. We particularly need Names for 0 and N and comments re the ranges. At some point they will get transferred to the main list. If anyone wants to volunteer for that task I'll be happy to look into how they can be provided with the necessary access rights.

How specialist are we going - 51L, MSE, wizard models, markits etc.? I'd be happy to look after the list if you like. I know a fair amount about OO suppliers, but nowt about N.

Thanks for the info guys, don't expect them to appear immediately, I'll probably do an update once a week, I try to do as much as possible by cut and paste to keep down the errors and I've definitely "broadened my out look with age". Time was I'd have three or four windows open at once on a 14" CRT, these days it's two 24" LED panels before I attempt drag'n'drop, and my cuttings get dropped into an ever open clipboard file, so I don't need to remember what I just put in memory.

In the new 'sticky' post, these four entries appear under N Gauge, but should be in the OO group:

Rapido..................................................Own brand product commissioned solely by NRM
Realtrack...............................................Own brand Multiple Units
Replica..................................................Own brand locos and stock
Scaleway................................................Finescale track

Fixed thanks

Rapido have been working on some N gauge stock for RevolutioN Trains, I believe the tooling for the Pendolino passes into Rapido ownership after the initial models are made (future models can't be made for two further years if memory serves), not sure about the TEA and PFA/KFA wagons and class 321 models though. RevolutioN have also commissioned an OO gauge TEA wagon.

For the TEA, PFA/KFA, 320/321 and 4mm TEA all the tooling belongs to Revolution though they are all being produced by Rapido.

Hattons should go in the OO manufacturer list now, with the Warwell, SECR P and Barclay industrial, all produced independently of any other party, and more to come.

Another new entrant proposing UK product in OO

Accurascale ... Range of wagons initially.

(Their first products were the very well received Irish Railways ballast hoppers and cement 'bubbles'.)

Keep it to businesses currently active, selling model railway product, was what I suggested. But the moderators must decide...

It occurred to me that there has been sufficient change that 'the list' needs significant revision. Highlighted red all the altered information that I would suggest for the RTR OO section. As ever, it may not be complete as something may have flown under my radar! (The N and O gauge require other's inputs.)

Accurascale.......................................Own brand locos and stock
C&L................................................Finescale track
DCC Supplies.....................................Finescale Track, DCC products
DJM................................................Delete or note 'ceased trading'
EFE Rail...........................................Bachmann marketing of locos and stock from various sources

Golden age.......................................Own brand locos and stock in hand assembled brass
Hattons...........................................Own brand locos and stock
Kernow............................................Own brand locos
KR Models........................................Own brand locos

Model Rail magazine............................commisioned locos and stock
National Railway Museum 'Locomotion'.......commissioned locos and stock, including exclusives
Olivias............................................commissioned batches of locos and stock
OOWorks.........................................Own brand offering short runs of steam locos
Oxford Rail.......................................Own brand locos and stock
Peco...............................................Track ranges
Rail Express magazine..........................commissioned custom liveried locos, limited quantity
Rails of Sheffield.................................Own brand locos and stock
Rapido.............................................Own brand product

Realtrack.................................... .....Own brand Multiple Units
Replica.............................................Own brand locos and stock
Revolution........................................Own brand stock
Scaleway...........................................Finescale track
Suttons Locomotive Works...... ...............Own brand finescale diesel locos with P4 and EM options
TMC................................................commissioned locos and stock

And just when you thought little further change was likely for a while, EFE Rail appears.

I have edited my Jul 16 RTR OO list to include this.
