Hornby LMS/BR TPO - Paint Match

Post by 6C »

Does anyone know a good paint match for the 'maroon?' used on these ?.

It seems to be the same for the LMS and BR livery applied, being matt and quite flat.

I have a late model BR version, on which I am modelling an ex-LMS TPO after 1957 - when it had its net and transductor removed to reveal a door and flat panel underneath - this area is the one that will need a repaint.

Take the model to your local Dulux decorator centre or B&Q with a colour mixing facility. They will scan it and provide you with a 1/4 litre sample tin (matt only) of acrylic paint for about a fiver.
