hastings pullmans

Postby rejrob » Tue Mar 31, 2020 11:13 am

Hi all from wrinkly towers where the guvnor and I are under house arrest due to some berk going on about some virus.NO pun intended as there are thousands of people who have lost relatives all over the world which is indeed very very sad.MY younger daughter is very vulnerable and also my son, a paramedic in sydney.I,ve recently finished cobbling together a 3 coach maunsell hastings set(213)in cream and red using Hornby maunsell coach roof and ends, interiors with Roxey etched sides taking over from hornby, reason as some will know
,Hornby coaches are 9ft width whereas Hastings coaches are 8ft0 3/4inch wide.HUmbrol 125 for the interior and phoenix P116/7 for the coach exterior. With the etch window frames in place the hornby windows are too large so a strip of acetate introduced, fine. Also the holes in the sides for handles opened out by using 0.5 mm drill and hey presto done. Now the rub????? Prior to making a second set i need a pullman to fit between the two sets Hornby do matchboard coaches but the Hastings ones were only 57 ft 6 inches ,shorter than other english pullmans, so will have to get one or maybe two match board types to cut and shut for a Hastings unit.Looking at the K&ESR their two hastings pullmans appear matchboard so will have to visit when able to get some measurements.Sorry no picci,s again but one day i will providing photo bucket have stopped charging for storing my own picci,sHope everyone is okay and all stay safe All the best Ron
