Just had an email from that bunch at Margate with a link to this:

I kinda like it, thoughts?

My first thought is - yes why don't we all spend our hard earned cash to provide free advertising for a global soft drink company who's product is know to contribute to weight and dental problems

No thanks!

Now that looks fun to me. Not sure I would paint the loco in the same livery... Not sure... Assuming Coca Cola is paying for the advertizing, it seems a little expensive. Is rather nice though as something different.

Not bad to get the kids into trains I guess

Would be funny if they did haribo, Mars or any other sweet vans to put behind as well

The blurb said it was aimed at adult collectors - really?

Doesn't strike me as aimed at anyone. Standard products given a no effort makeover. Anyone running a book on the final clearance price from Hattons or Rails?

That's to avoid the big no no of advertising sugary products/toy products together these days perhaps?

Wonder if the rrp includes the sugar tax?

How much do we think that the stock contained will be sold at seperately on eBay for? £40 per wagon?

Even if they paid ME £80, for me to do their advertising, I still would not want it!

Hey! £80 is £80 :P if they paid me to take the set and post it on social media I would, but only because I could reinvest the £80 in N gauge

That's funny!

Actually I have no choice as any form of artificial sweetner causes me to have some concerning issues. It took ages to find out what was causing them, as since the sugar tax so many ordinary products now contain artificial sweetner from bread to baked beans. It is crazy! It also takes time to shop as we have to read the smallprint on everything. Some products which normally dont contain artifcial sweetners (Which now come under an increasing amount of new names so is not easy to detect) sometimes put them in. Certain products can contain them even though they dont put them on the labels. Such products I avoid and can only tell they contain them through the reactions I get after a few mouth fulls.
Surprizingly, Coco Cola is one of the only drinks I can take when I get issues. Of corse it is the sugar type! Surprizing how few drinks out there dont contain artificial sweetners. Milkshakes, flvoured waters, most fizzy drinks, nearly all sports drinks... Some instant coffees... What set me off a few months ago was using mouthwash. I assumed as I wasn't swollowing it I would be ok. I have not yet found any mouthwash without artificial sweetner added to it.

Taking pre orders for a June delivery of an item aimed at Christmas, is only one step better than missing an early December delivery date. Such is the price of trying to minimise inventory cost.

I didn't know that it was aimed at Christmas. Is there a connection?

The depiction of Santa in red is often miss-attributed to a Coca-cola advertising campaign. read all about it
