Correct blue for GNER hst

Postby dan8400 » Mon Nov 13, 2017 4:48 pm

Hi everyone

I have a mix of Hornby and Lima hst coaches that I have been collecting from eBay. The only problem being; there are two different shades of blue.

Which is the correct one? One is very dark and the other is very light. The power cars are the darker shade. I don't mind stripping these all down and painting them, but I want to get it right first time.

Also, where do you recommend getting the paint from? Phoenix, Fox Transfers, Railmatch etc etc (for airbrush use)

Thanks
Dan

If memory serves, the Lima coaches are a bit too dark and the Hornby ones a lot too light. Lima were also far more consistent with their colour. Hornby almost varied within the same batch.
