I added a sliver of plastic strip as padding beneath the axle either side glued to the under frame to stop the axle moving up and down.In retrospect the rear axlebox would have been the one to do but I wanted to increase the weight bias forward by dropping the front axle, it's worked but was a lot more hassle.

I had a reply from Hornby that they are awaiting replacement traction tyres, I presume a little thicker.
