Hornby speaker recommendations

Postby George Stein » Fri Apr 10, 2015 5:34 pm

Writing from the USA, so no local club members to ask. Recently purchased Hornby R-3106 (Class 2800) and R-3170 (Adderley Hall). I would like to add sound decoders. Can anyone advise the proper (size) speakers (and possibly favorite brand) for these to locomotives? Will probably use Zimo decoders. Thanks in advance.

Don't forget to factor in the OHM rating too.
Thanks

4 or 8 ohm speakers for Zimo and most others nowadays.

Thanks for the Ohm reminder. It's the appropriate size I'm trying to learn about or get a recommendation based on someone's experience. Both have tender-mounted 8-pinsockets. Locomotive drive.

Sorry, misunderstood the question. No 28xx here so can't help.
Pete.
