If you're after bogies for the scale length Mk3's, I don't think thay're available as a spare. (I'm after some myself). I've only been able to find bogies for the old 'shorties'.

Hornby themselves have no idea if they're available as spares either! and just send you away.

Yes, the long ones, not the shorties. I wonder if they could be converted?

Hornby scale length MK 3 complete bogies (ex Lima) are available as spares. Part numbers are X9185 and X9186. These are grey bogie frames , so you will have to paint them.

Wheels with disc brakes inserts fitted are available . These are used on the Super detail HST non motorised car and are available as bogie wheel sets (two axles). Their part number is X9861. Service sheet HSS332 refers. I also think that the Pendolino non powered car wheels are fitted with disc brake inserts. They are a smaller diameter wheel. These are part number X9704 (four axles) Service sheet HSS302 refers

Bachmann disc brake wheels 36-017 are a perfect fit for the Hornby Mk3 bogies and they look superb!

That was very helpful Leader, I would never have known that if you hadn't said! I have come across Colin Craig 4mm finescale disc brakes, and I am going to use those probably.
