As i said before, the class 67 ISN'T super detailed. Its an old Lima moulding, looks ok but we really are due a super detailed model!

Found out that the 3rd of Jan is when the 2012 announcements will be made! Gives us extra time to put in final guesses for what Hornby won't be doing.
I'm going with a 57xx pannier, A2 and class 70...

Could we have a skaledale big chimney, like really big, and a big mill/boilerhouse to go with it?

and at a stretch if they did this could they manage a skale-auto's fred dibnah landrover and perhaps a little figure of the man himself?

Don't mind a few extra days actually-I don't think Mrs P was too happy that I was on the internet on Dec 25th & couldn't leave the PC alone for at least ONE day.TBQH,they've not exactly delivered a great deal in the past & considering they have a backlog of items from this year they'd promised,I doubt there'll be a massive amount to show us.
I think, like many others, there'll be more interest a bit later in March as to what a company in Barwell,Leics are planning to put in their blue/red boxes................

MREmag's Pat Hammond went to the Hornby trade briefing and the juicy bits are:
'no let up in the development of new items',
'alternative manufacturing partners engaged to enable catch up on existing announcements, and getting the 2012 announcements out by end of 2012'
'delay to the B17 is to ensure it met the required quality standard'
'Hornby have been listening to what their customers want, and the new items will tick some boxes'

Read it for yourself http://www.mremag.com/

Sounds pretty promising, especially the implication that Hornby are still working on the annual MREmag 'wishlist' surveys and other input from customers. Tracking the past two years surveys, about half of the strong contenders are now either available, or have a model announced. (I have gone for the top 60 of 2009, most of which are there in 2010 too, placing in parentheses)

GER claud and J15 would be nice to see.... the GER is sadly underrepresented in RTR at present

I think Fred's available in 7mm but a 4mm version of him would be great. I'v got a Landy all lined up for conversion, but having difficulty with the whitish signwriting on mucky maroon body. Best solution so far is paint the sides white and overlay them with a maroon decal. I give up at the thought of putting his name and phone number along the stiles of the ladders.

Shame that noone like hornby or anyone has done fred's landy yet but nevermind, just out of interest, does anyone make a decent sized chimney in 4mm?

If this list is true it's going to be a expensive year for me. I am glad Hornby are doing some detaled signals also happy thers some great Southern stock.

I am sorry if my post with all the models that have either been announced or produced is misleading, but they are not all from Hornby by any means, but are spread around dealer commissions, Bachmann, Dapol, Heljan and Hornby.

The operating semaphore signals were announced by Dapol, for example.

So do you know who's doing what?

Only for the ones highlighted in green obviously, as these are the items for which models are out or announced. Hornby (since this is the Hornby section) going down the list are doing the B17, Hawksworth corridor and Gresley non-corridor coaches, 28xx, 4F, D49. The rest of the 'greens' are being shared across Bachmann, Dapol and Heljan.

The wishlist items in black are not yet 'taken' ; and of course there is no promise that any or all of them will end up with models, though some are considered to be hot favourites.
