Complete Lima stock list

Postby tstageman » Thu Sep 02, 2010 5:19 pm

Does anyone know where I could find a complete list of all of Lima's products, including each and every livery? This is when the models were produced under Lima and not the newer updated Hornby versions.

Many Thanks

Tom

There used to be a Lima Collectors Club, I was a member and they had a really good catalogue listed products in catologue number and also class number.

I have it in the loft somewhere !!

Is there anything specific you are trying to find out.

Have a search through Yahoo groups..

I found this..

To be honest there was not a lot they didn't do, lots of limited editions brought unusual liveries.

All the mainline liveries in terms of locos and passenger stock was produced.

The catalogue was massive.

Hi

Yes, that is right. Lima did bring out limited editions. A friend of mine has a Lima Porterbrook liveried Deltic. The purple colour surprisingly suits the lines of the Deltic very well. Not sure what year this comes from though.

There seems to be a lot of brand new boxed Lima models out there. Recently been to a fair whereby a stall holder bought a large batch of brand new condition boxed Lima models from a collector that never ran them. I bought a green Class 47, but a common problem seems to be the motor bogie, it does not turn very well. when running on the layout, the motor bogie stays in the straight position when on the curves, thus derailing. Unless I shave the plastic I find this a tricky one to solve. Ay ideas anyone?

Had that problem myself with a lima 47, I solved by disconnecting motor bogie & used a half round 1 inch width file to remove 0.5mm from chassis , or equally as effective would be to file both front & rear of the bogie using a smaller quarter inch wide flat file.

Thanks for that. It seemed this was a widespread problem Lima had with 47s. Surprised that so many left the factory in this condition. My friend has got a few of these and nearly all have this motor bogie fault.

It doesn't take a lot to allow the bogie to swing freely, if you move the bogie one way to its furthest position use a stanley blade or similar to scrApe across the inside face of the curved slot.

Don't remove too much they soon free up.
