Some good deals at Model Railways Direct. Hornby streamline Coronation for under £100 for example.

Re: Theft at GC Model Event

There was stuff taken from other traders and exhibitors. Must have taken a while, whoever was on security needs a rocket, or investigation.

Re: Miniature Wunderland - Hamburg

As soon as I hear "runs to a timetable" I have visions of nothing moving for ages and moving on to the next layout.

Re: Price of a Hobby

I've never paid full price for anything, I wait for sales and special offers or buy mint second hand. Ebay is your friend.

Re: Hornby Q1

I think it's one of Hornbys best, great detail, nice weight and a smooth and powerful motor. Not heard of any problems with them.

I've looked at Annex 2, most relevant seems to be.. Toys and their parts and, in the case of fixed toys, their anchorages, must have the requisite mechanical strength and, where appropriate, stability to withstand the stresses to which they are subjected during use without breaking or becoming liabl...

I have been wondering that bringing Lyndon Davies in from Oxford Models could be beginning of a merger/takeover.

The S15 is one of Hornbys best and available for £80 at a Cornish deales. Buy one and run it, we won't tell anyone it's incorrect.

Re: 14xx -- any gossip?

Yes that sounds about right. I ended up buying the model before the Railroad version with the sprung rear wheels, it runs just fine. Looks like Hornby have shot themselves in the foot this time, should have left well alone.
