Canadian National Railways U-2 class Northern-type steam locomotive 4-8-4. Sadly it can no longer steam, but it is in pretty good shape.

My Saturday

Over the past few months, I have started volunteering with the Toronto Railway Historical Association. Yesterday, there was an organised photoshoot and I was part of the crew (mainly moving fences around). I did have some time to record some video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMgEQLMhzFo Anyone w...

Re: 47806 Goes Trainspotting

After posting trainspotting outings since late 2007, I have decided to close this thread. I will still keep posting updates for my layouts on my layout thread. Also, I will continue to keep posting photos to my website: http://thomasblampied.fotopic.net/ Thanks to all for the kind comments about my ...

There are several retailers in Canada who stock UK outline (for a price). 66068 was a Christmas gift several years ago, I believe purchased through Hattons.

Re: 47806's Two Layouts (Crick Road and the IC&L)

Crick Road Update: Nothing to report. IC&L Update: Lots of details have been added, including road markings and signs. The factory roof is proving to be very difficult to attach and the storage tanks still need some work. Here are a few photos: http://images.fotopic.net/11qc5f.jpg The signs for ...

Re: 47806 Goes Trainspotting

A trip to Toronto yesterday to visit the Canadian International Autoshow. Canada is to get the Ford Fiesta and the Fiat 500, I doubt either will actually sell though.

Also caught the daily Ontario Northland train north to Cochrane:

Re: 47806's Two Layouts (Crick Road and the IC&L)

Crick Road Update: Nothing to Report IC&L Update: The factory is nearly complete, except for details, weathering and the storage tanks. I recently purchased a CP Rail caboose and an Ontario Northland bulkhead flat (for carrying pulpwood). Most of the signs are complete and I am ready for the ro...

Re: 47806 Goes Trainspotting

I tried a new location today. The town of Cobourg is about 90 minutes east of Toronto and is worth the visit as the station is sandwiched between the CN and CP main lines. I met quite a few trainspotters (a very rare occurrence in Canada). http://images.fotopic.net/11lrj3.jpg http://images.fotopic.n...

Re: Network rail

I would have a look at ebay. I know that a few years ago there were a few hst sets in Network Rail yellow. Usually people modify the coaches and sell them as a lot and then the locos are a separate lot.
