Re: 'OO' live steam - advice sought.

It was genius how Hornby put the live steamers together but what the different voltage they use I think it has it's limitation as to use. I thought it was more of a novelty than anything else. Also using the older generation bodyshell styles I didn't think they looked too great. My mate Malc has got...

Re: How diverse is your loco collection?

I tend to work on the principal that if I like it i'll buy it, only stuff up to the transition era though, nothing past that, so it's all over the place really, and because of that i've amassed around 150 locos now....I think i'm ill...... :?

Re: 3.5" Gauge track - Where to buy

Just look out for the proper Hornby track to go with it....Comes up quite often chap..... :) I've picked up a couple of extra packs but am considering getting a couple more locos of the same gauge so was thinking of something a little more robust than the Hornby stuff Yes that would be a good idea ...

Re: Hornby Live Steam Rocket

I've got one of those, had it for a number of years now. They're temperamental old things, you either get one that works great, or one that doesn't, very hit and miss. There's a couple of modded ones doing the rounds too. Surprisingly, the carriages you mention, sell for more than the loco itself du...

Slaters Transfers

Evening all, just a quick question. I've recently built a few Slaters plastic wagon kits, and they've turned out great, but the only niggle i've got is a problem with applying the transfers. It says in the destructions  that you should be able to place them in the required position and 'rub th...

MR 10T Brake Van Decals

Hi all. I've recently built a Slaters kit of a Midland Railway 10T Brake Van, but unfortunately due to an apparent 'Faulty Batch', it came without the transfers, and the tension lock coupling sprue. The coupling isn't too much of a problem to sort out, but does anyone know where I'd be able to sourc...

Re: The Day Hornby Went Completely Mad

Yep this is kind of related to what's been spoke about previously, but I do agree that Hornby's prices are increasing by a substantial amount all of the time, and I for one am being 'priced out' of the hobby. I haven't bought any new locos or coaches for quite some time due to them becoming un-affor...

Re: Save the OZ 04's

I agree, I absolutely adore the O4's, but I think I would maybe like to see one brought to the UK. They are indeed Aussie loco's if they've been there since new however. It would be interesting to compare the condition of one of them with say a ex-barry loco. I think they are likely to be in fair co...

Haven't bought the set, but the Bachmann Pannier is a superb little loco held in high regard. I've never really heard anyone say anything against it. Happy Modelling mate, Nick.

Re: Another level crossing collision, and a confessional driver?

I learned how to be safe at a level crossing when i was very young, perhaps 2 or 3 or 4 ish, in east tilbury we still had manned gates which were lovely things, i'm sure there are plenty of members who will remember them  Clearly she is an idiot. Very close, I learned to be safe at crossings ...
