I have a number of these, and I think they're great, and so do the kids. They were designed to be a novelty, and they live up to it perfectly. :)

I'm a VERY laid back modeller, so oodles of accuracy and detail worry me not, if I like it I buy it. I had the reproduction LOTI set bought for me as a gift and I love the vintage look of these locos pulling clerestories, this led me to buy every version Hornby have made since then....So if you like...

That's exactly what it is! Although I like the name 'disco board' better for them, in my neighbourhood i'm surprised it was still there again today and not been pinched and flashing away in some pot smoking teenagers bedroom! :lol:

I went out for a ride on the old pushbike today, and down alongside the railway line was a sign of some sort, standing there, that was just over waist height, and had two upwardly pointing black chevrons on a yellow background with two flashing white strobe lights flashing away one above the other, ...

They're definitely lighter than say the 'Smokey Joe' saddle tanks, this is due to the lack of the die cast chassis plate the saddle tanks have. Exactly the same motor etc though. :)
