Re: Gateside and Northbridge

Didn't have the phone to hand last night to capture the issues I was having, these photos below will show how I had to re-jig the configuration to fit round the travelling crane. First thing I overlooked is that the buttress steelwork forces the track centres apart by more than the 3" that I ha...

Re: Gateside and Northbridge

Plan for the Inglenook now finalized, the top two sidings under the travelling crane will be the 3 wagon sidings, the next one down will be the five wagon siding, thus creating the traditional Inglenook, I have added the crossover to add some operating interest should this ever become a standalone,...

Re: Gateside and Northbridge

Hi Ex Pat, the top rail is made from K&S round brass rod 0.032" X 12", ref number #8160. I use that wire a lot on the layout.

Cheers

Re: Windermere's replacement bus service replaced

I hear that they have put 33029 on the service today, pity it is so far away, would be nice to hear that BRCW sound in the hills again. Train was busy!

Re: Bridport & Dist MRC Summer Exhibition 28th July

Hi Geoff - I had to do a double take on that last photo, took me a while to work out where the real trees ended and the layout began! :D

Looking good

Re: N gauge shed ideas guys?

If you are modelling modern image, build a loco depot and get a class 66, then you can have a shed in a shed in a shed :D

Best of luck with the project.

Re: Edgware GN,

Hi Manna - more great work from you, how are you finding the Twin-Art for negotiating pointwork and curves, I have one and I had to tweak it considerably to go through my 24" curves, even then it is not the most reliable and I have retired it from regular service.

Re: Financial Woes Continue

A DCC operated on-loco uncoupler that will work with several widely used couplings would be the one doodad that would truly interest me. Now that WOULD be an advancement. :) Thanks End2end Let's think how this would be done, lets first assume that we are retaining the "standard" coupling ...

Re: Gateside and Northbridge

Thanks Timbersurf and Burnie :) Burnie- The basis of this bridge is also one of the laser cut mdf kits from Ebay so you are not really cheating - I just adapted the basic kit to make the bridge look a bot more like the prototype I had in mind, the only real issue I had with the kit was that the base...

Re: Which sound/speakers for Heljan DP2

I often wondered what would have happened to DP2 if it had not been involved in that crash, granted it would have eventually been withdrawn as non-standard but I think that it could have lasted for a good few years more. I never had the pleasure of seeing it, did it sound the same as the production ...
