Re: 158/150 New releases.

It is as simple as it looks... Having stripped the body off and disconnected the lights from the body connector. Remove the board by prising off carefully.. Unsolder the black / red wires from the underneath the board that have come from the wheel pick ups, leave the front set which go to the body c...

Re: 158/150 New releases.

I was tempted with the latest 158, however put off by the cost of converting to DCC. Two reasonable decoders, and a lighting kit, your talking £50. You only need the decoders which will cost you £16 if you use two hornby one's, the factor fitted lights are ok when connected from the decoder, some...

Re: Problem with Bachmann 66 and Peco turnouts

You should not have to modify your points to accomodate a Bachmann 66. I have all the 66's and never had a problem with any type of Peco point, unless it was a fault on the loco. Derailment has come up before, I have found a couple of my locos had problems with the steps on the side of the bogies fo...

Re: Bachmann Class 66 - 66135

Can I assume you've done the obvious, clean wheels and pick ups ? This is normally the major issue.. Not sure if you bought it new, if not you could reset all the CV values to factory set. However I have read on postings on here people adjusting the cv's to avoid this issue normally apparent with sl...

Re: 158/150 New releases.

The XC 221 is advertised as DCC Ready at Rails of Sheffield and the 170 was also promoted as DCC onboard also at Rails before its release. DRS. Yes it clearly states DCC Ready, but I think its a typo on ROS's part, you would have thought all the 220/221's would have been DCC Ready if one was !! The...

Re: 158/150 New releases.

With regards to DCC ready DMUs the 2009 221 in XC colours is marked up for DCC Ready, but saying that the ONE Class 170 was marked for DCC Onboard. DRS. Not sure where you saw this but neither the catalogue or web site say that either model is DCC ready or onboard. Its dissapointing however I'd pre...

Re: Heljan Clayton

The Claytons haven't left the factory in China yet, people from Heljan have gone over to resolve the issues but this all means a further delay of another few months. And there was me thinking they were manufactured in Denmark, the newsheet sais Q2, 1700-1706 are all pre - sold, Q3 for 1707 & 1708

Yes, just what I thought, probably be the best DMU yet.

Horns look great tucked away on the front..

I just pushed the boat out and ordered the Hattons Ltd Edtn one because the livery is so different to anything on my layout...

Re: 158/150 New releases.

Not sure I like the way one coach has an interior and the other has a drive unit in it... The 158's and 170's are similar but have a limited amount of seating fitted between the motor and each end of the unit, it maybe insufficient space, you probably wont even notice it when its running round on t...

Re: Dapol '00' Gauge B800 Track Cleaner

Sorry to dredge this thread up from the depths.... I am thinking of buying one of these, can anyone tell me why it's DCC, what does it do if you put a decoder in? Hope someone can help..... Gav. Never tried mine on address 10 before I put a decoder in it, obviously if your not DCC dont fit one.. Bu...

Re: Dapol '00' Gauge B800 Track Cleaner

Well I've had a good go at running the wagon in various modes and I think its main benefits are obviously areas you cant reach by hand and it does work well, surprising what it picked up, a problem I found was if you are using seep point motors with a pin above the track level then it will catch alt...

Your in luck..

I believe the flyer details the first three models to be made, including a Virgin Trains..

A Freightliner Grey and Green pair would be good for a liner train... :D
