Husky VW Pick-up Van Scale?

Can anyone help me please? I've been trying to discover what the scale of the Corgi Husky VW pick up van is. To me it looks like it would sit on a OO layout quite nicely but would like confirmation. I came across one in a box of stuff I had and would like to take it on as a little winter time projec...

Re: Millburn Station 00 Gauge Loft Layout

The track has now all been tested and runs smoothly. It's time to move onto the scenery. I plan to start painting and ballasting the track but as the temperatures plummet the loft is not an enjoyable location at the minute for model making. To pass the time I took to the Dapol water tower kit in pre...

Re: Millburn Station 00 Gauge Loft Layout

Hello all,

Following 11 months of ideas, preparation, construction and buying of materials I have now completed all track laying for Millburn.

Following are a few photos of progress so far.

Re: Whic DCC controller should i buy

Having had the same conundrum and posting before on this forum I opted for the Powercab. Picked mine up for £95 and works treat. Fairly simple to use too once you get going. Very straight forward to change between locos although I haven't attempted any complicated programming to date.

Re: Hornby Select is driving me mad...

I am no expert on this but as far as I know the Select controller is not NMRA compliant and therefore any chips other than Hornby own brand will not be read by the controller. It is an issue I think the other way round too. I had a Hornby DCC fitted loco that would not work with my Powercab controll...

Re: A question and i need to vent.

Hi Don't despair. We all have our moments at the railway when we would like to tear out our hair (if we had any!) or jack the whole thing in. A day or two away usually allows you to see things in a better light and a new strategy formed to tackle the problem. With regards the distance between platfo...

Re: Millburn Station 00 Gauge Loft Layout

It's been a while since I posted on this thread so just a quick update. Progress has been slow but steady as I continue to wire each section with jumpers. So far three of the 10 sections have been done - these being the more complicated ones in the station areas. One more of these to go - probably t...

Re: Big News - Railway Accident

Like air disasters, railway disasters seem to hit the press in a far greater way due to the greater number of fatalities you normally get with both these types of accidents. A terrible occurrence all the same no matter what the cause. Canada has suffered a lot this year with rail incidents.

Hmmm. I think I may bin it although there is a small temptation to fill the form in and see what happens.

Is this too good to be true?

Am I missing something or is this a genuinely good offer? In this months Railway Modeller I found a leaflet for the purchase of a London Routemaster bus in 1/76 scale for a mere £1.99 and free delivery. Send no money now and no obligation to buy anything ever in the future. I am a cynic at heart so ...

DCC ready Flying Scotsman space issues

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but I couldn't find anything in the search bar. I have the DCC ready Flying Scotsman as part of the Hornby set. Upon installing a Bachman decoder I have discovered that the space under the shell is too compact to allow for the decoder to sit when the shell is ...

Re: Newbie layout idea - am I being too adventurous?

Hi Tellytart, I think anything is possible. It's all about about good planning and patience. If you have been in the hobby before you will have found skills that are still relevant now. I returned to the hobby after a long absence and skills come back to you and those that don't the internet, this f...
