Re: The Strogaloft - Construction Begins... Again!

Evening all.. Just a bit of a photo update.. Have had an hour up the loft tonight... have re-programmed the 47 (acceleration/deceleration etc..) so now it is running very sweetly (but still in the wrong direction!) For some reason, my rake of MK2's have decided they no longer wish to stay on the tra...

Re: The Strogaloft - Construction Begins... Again!

Hi thebritfarmer, yes it is a Bachmann 47. For some reason the polarity is reversed, so it goes the opposite direction to the other locos. :? I believe this can be cured by altering a CV value, but I cant do that with my controller, so I'll just have to get used to it for now. Also having teething t...

Re: The Strogaloft - Construction Begins... Again!

Hi Siquelme I'd very much like to model our wedding train... I plan on getting a Hornby Devon Belle coach, and maybe putting some figures in it, like a Preiser 'Wedding Party' or similar. Unfortunately nobody makes a RTR model of a 2-8-0T loco :( I'm sure they will one day though, I think that large...

Re: The Strogaloft - Construction Begins... Again!

Evening chaps. Today I am a very happy man.... Let me put you in the picture. The wife is mad on entering competitions, she enters every contest imaginable, and she does rather well at it ! So last week, we had a call to say that we/she has won an uber Sony entertainment package, which is very cool,...

Thanks very much chaps.

Nobody believes me, but the whole 'wedding on a steam railway' was her idea !

I've just noticed that Hattons have got their Class 28 Co-Bo's in.... really want one :(

Re: The Strogaloft - Construction Begins... Again!

Thanks Manna. Well the wedding was a week ago, it went very well. Our loco was GWR 5239 'Goliath', which is a large 2-8-0T loco. We had a couple of carriages reserved at the rear of the train (including the Devon Belle observation car). We went from Kingswear to Churston (a lovely little preserved s...

Re: The Strogaloft - Construction Begins... Again!

Hey Britfarmer, thanks for that. Platforms are progressing nicely... am using long strips of balsa for the sides of the next platform. Seems to be ok so far. No pictures though I'm afraid, because they wouldnt be very interesting ! Nothing much is going to be done in the coming weeks as I'll be rath...

Re: The Strogaloft - Construction Begins... Again!

Evening chaps, I've been a bit quiet of late, so thought I would post an update ! I started a new job about 5 weeks ago, hence why there hasnt been much going on with the layout. But I have had the odd couple of hours up the loft on the weekends. The 2 main areas I have been working on are the new s...

Re: class 31 problem

Hi Ross, as Bufferstop has suggested, I cured my shorting problem with a small sliver of brown parcel tape. To illustrate, this was where my shorting occurred: http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff219/DrStroganoff/short.jpg I stuck the small piece of tape over the rail that is just to the left of th...

Re: The Llanidloes and Newtown Railway

Hi Kenny. That Sentinel looks a little corker ! I've heard that they are remarkably good runners, lets hope they pave the way for more RTR 0-4-0s !

Also the A4 line-up is very impressive! 8)

Re: hornby dublo couplers

Ross, just had a thought. If these are old tinplate type wagons, they might be fitted with old metal wheels which I believe would need to be replaced... They will just short out your system, as they were designed for 3-rail running. However, if they are the later type of HD wagon then they should be...

Re: The Strogaloft - Construction Begins... Again!

Finally sussed out the flash on the mrs camera! So excuse the flash photography, but my loft is very dark... I had some visitors the other night, and naturally took them up the loft to show off the layout... and I can guarantee, everytime I show somebody up there, something goes horribly w...
