Re: 2012 Spring Competition - "End of Days"

Just going to sit and watch with this competition, as I just have no room to create another diorama. :P Unless of course I could modify my GCSE art piece? Seen here: (page 2 of the thread) http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=31130&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start...

Re: Bachmann class 70

I've got one, they're amazing if you ask me. Can pull anything you put behind them. (Can pull all my freight stock, my layout's too small to make a train long enough!)

Go for it. The lights are awesome aswell. :D

Re: Castell Mawr - Unless we decide to change it !

Ahhh, Much better. :D

And personally, I'd go for the gardens/buildings and no roads, as you quite often get the low relief with a road scene on layouts, but not very often do you get gardens backing onto the tracks.

Now I'll just sit back for a bit and watch how this one unfolds.

Re: Castle Mawr - Unless we decide to change it !

Hi Geoff, I can't wait to see this project unfold, lets hope it doesn't end up as a pile of wood with some track on it with no one working on it. :'( One thing, "Castle Mawr" Wouldn't it be better to go the whole way and name it Castell Mawr? (Big castle, in Welsh) As to me**, Castle Mawr ...

Re: My 5" garden railway.

And about the King, No. I may start with ...

PLanning in 009

Hey guys, Basically, I've got a 60cm by 38 cm base board and I was thinking of what I could do with it. This board is the one I used for the Easter competition and it has all been stripped off. ;D I was thinking along the lines of a small 009 quarry/mine with the backscene being made out of polystyr...

Re: Llanidloes and Newtown Railway

Are you hoping it to be a dummy? Then perhaps, check that the wheels are insulated (Piece of plastic in the axle, so it's not solid metal) Or that the pickups still don't rub on the wheels. :)

Hope that helps.
