Lima Class 37 and 20 replacement wheels

Are they any options/alternatives to upgrade from the old Lima wheels to something newer and more modern??

Both loco's are dummy's, so no drive gear is required.

Thanks

Re: Hornby or Peco track??

Already done the metal re-wheel!

Sounds like more cleaning is required! I'm thinking of re-wiring the whole layout anyway and putting proper droppers on each section of track.

Re: Hornby or Peco track??

No, its all new modern stuff. I thought Peco used better quality metals and techniques for their track?

Admittedly, I don't clean rolling stock. Whats the best way to do that?

Hornby or Peco track??

I'm using Hornby Setrack at the moment for 'Port Moon' and am still having some running problems with the DCC setup. The railway is kept in the garage. Is Peco setrack any better in terms of conductivity and keeping itself clean? Is it worth changing the track out for Peco track before I set to ball...

Re: Paggminster - NEW UPDATE 19/8/13

Class 08's seem to have a habit of falling over-board!

I've done both mine, breaking buffers, handrails and even bending the axle on one! I've repaired them both, but never quite been the same again. Very annoying as I love my gronks :(

Re: Bachmann or Hornby control?

Depends on your budget, what you want from the controller and how you like to operate things and if you keep the select and purchase the Elite, you can connect the two together! :D

Re: Help please to fit a smoke generator into DCC loco

Hi Nigel, I fitted a seuthe smoke generator to my Hornby 9f. It's a great little smoke unit, but I suspect you will HAVE to do some mod work to fit it. As for the decoder, I'm using a Zimo sound chip for this and it has no problems. As for the stay alive, not sure how that would affect it. 'YouChoos...

Re: Woolmer and Alfieston - BR/SR OO Layout c.1950's

I apologize in advance for my poor lack of updates, but on the same hand, I haven't been doing too much in the loft, or the garage due to the heat and various other things happening. I am however, continuing to spend money and tinkering with a few things along the way. The most recent completion, an...

Re: Re-spray process - Class 25 Ethel

I've given her a coat of Gloss varnish, and ordered the decals from Precision Labels on Monday, and they arrived today!! Really nice looking, but sadly didn't include the electrical warning flashes for the front of ETHEL. Other than that, I spend a bit of time doing the decals, having learnt from pr...

Re: Re-spray process - Class 25 Ethel

I completed the spraying of ETHEL's body yesterday, just the roof to do now. Having masked up the grey panel to spray the rest of the body blue, as I was removing the masking tape, a small length of about 2cm of grey got removed with the tape!! I then also realised at the same time that the l...
