Re: Did it happen??

Our heritage railways in total run a varied lot of locos and trains from those happier days when we had water troughs, turntables, water cranes, coaling sheds, cattle pens and goods sheds and good luck to them all for all the preservation that they do. I can't quite visualise the likes of Hst125, v...

Re: Clerestory Crazy?

I've too been looking at these coaches in attempt to get some more older fashioned coaches. The LNER clerestory coaches made in china are not bad but need some work, although not based on a particular prototype you can get them to look like an ex GCR/GNR/GER coach. I've added weight and seats and in...

And for those into more modern signaling this is a demonstration of how a N/X panel works.

Re: Model railway collection

You can try here the forum has a few selling rules you can find on the for sale page, you won't sell the lot but you can avoid any fees so what you make is 100 per cent yours. Ebay depends on time if you have a lot of stuff to sell but you'll probably get the best price there, just remember the fees...

Re: Alex3410 - My Railway

A quick video showing the layout to give you a better idea on how they link together I have to say i love my SECR C class running around - even with LNER coaches  When I saw your photos I thought she was a LNER loco at first she went so well those coaches. The layout is looking good mate. (On ...

Re: Strange little loco !!

The first one is Thomas the model was introduced in about 1996 and I think that may have come from the original clockwork model. From what I understand the second is based on a single prototype (abet very loosely) same as the Hornby GWR 101 is based on one, yet in the world of hornby there are milli...

Re: OO Gauge Terminus Station Layout.

At the end of the day it's your money and it's up to you but I would suggest starting small, such as a standard loco, you can always get the fancy bits done later and I'm sure a model shop your side of the pond can do that for you the only difference between an British outline model and an American ...

Re: Shunting Y Puzzle

I belive the answer is: - shunt 'A' into the top spur - Couple 'B' to 'A' - move both wagons and postion 'A' in the middle (L) -shunt 'B' into the top spur - couple loco to 'A' and move into postion B - Run loco to other end of the triangle reverse up to wagon 'B' and draw forward into postion a. Si...

Re: OO Gauge Terminus Station Layout.

Golden age models are a speciallist model maker and from what you've told us I would not recomenend these models to you. Hornby produce both class of locomotive, even if you can't find them at the moment you'll have to be patient like the rest of us. Hornby have massive production problems meaning a...

Just making more work for me  I've got to hand it to the guys for using the chopper for the search alot sa...

Re: This might have started?

It's been quite on this post for sometime, But I've not given up oh no, I just went for a complete rebuild! Having struggled to find a suitable plan I picked up a copy 'The Railway Modeller book of track plans for various locations' when I was away in Yorkshire. This book combined with the beautiful...

Re: Some Mothers Do 'ave 'em

His original listing was just a photo of the lima brand on a box with no other details, the seller has since updated his advert, I looked at his listings and he had a few with just the word lima but they have now been edited. I assume the seller took advantage of free listings given to some users th...
