Not just 60s, it's common practice across all companies. IIRC, Freightliner are/were using Class 47s at Crewe.

I'm fairly sure they're banned, but I'm by no means an expert on mainline steam. 60mph would cause a lot of trouble on the modern railway anyway.

As I understand it, 9Fs are banned from running on NR, so restoring it would be rather pointless.

Dunno, I'd be surprised as DP2 was based on a Deltic, but there is a Baby Deltic engine currently mounted in a 37?
