Re: Disruption to services caused by....
I think a small part of the problem is the lack of locos fitted with MSPs. Plenty of big ploughs to get the line clear when it's well and truly blocked, but nothing available to keep it running when it's around 12" above railhead. Although clearly, when it comes to 3rd rail, you've had it whate...

Apparently, cheap ebay alcohol isn't that pure - whether that's as big as a problem as some people think I don't know.

Re: Over Crowding
The ECML's full too, and the S&C would need SERIOUS work to accommodate boxes. HS2 IS needed; whether or not it's the best way to spend £16billion is another story. Personally, I feel that electrification and new stock ought to come first, but I do think it needs building.

Re: Over Crowding
Which lines do you expect freight to use between London and Glasgow, time critical Intermodals in particular? An article on RailNews.com I think put the full WCRM - 140mph operation - at £22 billion. That's considerably more than HS2. I agree that in an ideal world, we'd be able to spend a lot of mo...

Re: Over Crowding
Ok I'll be very controversial here... We DON'T need HS2... Nobody is that bothered about saving a few minutes, and between London and the Midlands and the NW we are only talking about minutes, not hours... Japan, France and Germany are big countries covering big distances... we aren't... so 186 or ...

Yeah - fold the bogie down over the wheels/axles. It put me off building any more kits, but since you've had a better experience, perhaps I should reconsider.

Very nice builds! That Shark looks excellent - you've really brought out the best in the Hornby model, which is pretty damn good to begin with. How do you find the Cambrian kits to run - I built some BAAs and found them atrocious.

Re: Class 60
On a more macarbe but sadly realistic note if the locos do get scrapped who will do it? Are Coopers Metals, Mc Metals and CF Booths of Rotheram still in buisiness? Theese are the ones i know best as they were responsible for cutting up many fine machines. Booths are still a big player, so are...

Apparently, DBS has removed the control cards from all those for sale. Expensive, if not impossible to replace, the loco's useless without
