Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

Fantastic! Almost brings a tear to my eye! Your next mission, should you choose to accept it, is related to your comment about painting and blending on the paving. Fresh from standing on street corners and staring at kerbs go and stand on some street corners and gaze at the detritus in the road. I'...

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

Been to Stoneleigh Park today to the Train Fair with pocket money that was converted from 'Wifey Points' i'd banked up (if your married you will be aware of the procedure to earn points and points mean prizes)? So you probably want to see what I have purchased? From Knightwing I purchased the Gantry...

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

Thanks for the post knottinbotswana. I did think about this when I was adding the road and the pavement, and suppose it's an issue when using pre-printed roads. You find yourself deviating from what looks good and not practically. The up side to Scalescenes is that you have already brought the produ...

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

Two bits off work I have done today. The signs have been added to the Truck Workshop. It was going to be 'Truckeast' but found that 'Keltruck' already has a real workshop in a simular colour so I changed it. Got some other signage done today but I haven't installed it on the layout so you will have ...

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

Are the ride heights different? I'm running 3 OBAs behind my GraFar 66 no problem with several loaded wagons behind, so I would suspect they'll be fine behind your GraFar 66. I have had a problem similar. What it seems to be is the loco (in my case Class 37) has its coupling lower than the wagon so...

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

HELP!!!!! What can I do? I have purchased 5 Graham Farish 31 Ton OBA wagons and they keep uncoupling from my Dapol Class 66. When I first got these I thought it was because of my radius 1 and 2 curves. It was only happening after the turns at each end where it straightens. So I replaced the curves ...

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

Not much to upload today as I’ve been otherwise occupied. I have detailed the top road (I call this road City Road). I have used Scale scenes for the road surface keeping it generic with the road to the rear of the TMD. I have used the paving plastic card that i got from the model shops for the pave...

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

Hi Peter,

Santa ordered mine from Hattons. I made a wishlist using their e hattons site so Santa ordered the right stuff and scale? I think it was £14. I've got to say I'm really happy that I have it. I'll even go to say it the best ready to place product on my layout so far?

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

I have installed a really handy app this morning from Itunes. It’s a scale-converter; you type in the real measurement and can scale it down to what ever measurement you want. You can even type in the measurement in Inches, Feet, or Yards and it will convert it to Millimetres? A fantastic app!

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

Blimey Matt you have been busy over the Christmas break! This layout is coming on really well and I like the washing plant. I plan to get one of these as well so it's good to see it on your layout to get an idea of its size and detail. Chris, plan to either install this on a raised platform or buil...

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

Quick update of some of the developments from today on the "Tinsdale Layout". Apart from having to run some of the trains today to keep my two year old happy i have been rather busy on the scenic front. I got so much stuff to get on with thanks to my other half (thanks again hun). First on...

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

I've already been busy this morning. I have started to make the signage for the Depot and Stobart Yard. The Stobart isn't sited yet but here’s a picture. http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff476/TractorMatt/20122010203.jpg http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff476/TractorMatt/20122010202.jpg http:/...

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

Today was far to cold to be in the loft so I have taken today as another scratch building day. I have wanted a gate house like Knightwing’s below. http://www.knightwing.co.uk/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?cart_id=1292786355.209&product=OO-HO_Building_Kits&pid=188 This is OO gauge so I have set to bui...

Re: EWS TMD, N Gauge, Modern Era

Yesterday saw me get in the loft for a short time so I took to placing the TMD and thinking about where I was setting items down. This was triggered as I had received a parcel from Hattons for Two Stobart Containers, two sets of lifting jacks, Traction maintenance workers and the Farish Fuel tanks (...
