Re: My N gauge layout.

Hi, Looks good. Have you also had a thought about the old classic layout 'Bredon' which Peco also included in a recent OO Track plan. http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=21948 This does only include one full loop, but that could easily be amended so it has two. Bonus...

Services and running engines

I have uncovered seven old OO engines in the loft. None have run for at least 18 years. Surprising almost immediately out of the box they have all run. Although to different standards. Been cleaning the wheels, but can I do anything to the actual engines (eg a dollup of WD40)?

Running DCC on DC layout

Hi, Just tried to run a new Farish DCC engine (with chip installed) on our club DC layout, but no pickup of power. Is this expected? I assumed it could be run as a DC engine when on a DC layout.

Re: views on the farish 4mt

Frack it. joy of joys, stay of execution, I now have 2 years before redundancy. I wonder how motivated I will be to actually do any work? Friend works as Contractor (as they all are) on a large London Borough computer system being implemented. The minute its finished they're all out of work. Lets t...

Re: Dirty pit stuff!

I looked at the first photo and the only thing - the only thing - that gave it away was the mug in the background ! I didn't notice the mug, I was too busy looking at the grim, it's what real railways are made up of. Done a good job there. Be looking out for an article in the mags about how its don...

Re: Shunt / fiddlers yard 6x3

If you're not ever going to be running more than one train at a time, just solder the power feed to every section of track, you can pretty much guarantee the power supply to the loco at any given point of the layout ensuring smooth runnings :) Matt For a layout this size isn't soldering a power fee...

Re: 00 Layout - New update 21/10/12

As i said earlier, I decided to change the signal box on the embankment and creat a sort of, cutting. 'Sort of' because instead of cutting out a section of the embankment and having the box a ground level , i decided to raise up the box on a brickwork pier. What do you think?? Looks excellent. Didn...

Re: Heritage Line Layout Time for yet another update

Why a heritage line? Lack of self discipline, if I take a liking too a particular loco or other vehicle it isn't going to look out of place. Also every siding filled with stock and hardly room to move, is being true to type. I think you started this post right. "Why a heritage line?", it ...

Bit of a pain bing into huge modern express trains when you only have 2' x 4' to play with.

Re: 2' x 4' N gauge layout thoughts

I think you have a nice little layout there. Probably need something larger than a shunter for the incline. If not started yet consider the Farish DCC set. Green diesel loco, but ends up good value for money rather than buying all seperately.

Re: Harry Potter Themed HO/OO Modules in Maryland

I think you've done such an excellent job on the Harry Potter Module, we should start discussing what film module to guide you towards next. I'll start the list. The Polar Express Back to the Future III The Great St Trinians Train Robery The Titfield Thunderbolt Avalance Express Brief Encounter The ...
