Re: Loxley Lane, 6x4, OO layout

You know what Leopard, when i started seriously thinking about doing this a couple of months ago, I never imagined that I would read thru your last post and start dreaming! I have never had any real interest in trains or railways, other than a mild enthusiasm for steam propogated by many hou...

Re: Tosh's loft layout

Liking the chimney, gives it some mood! might give you a mood having to crawl around it! Looks like a good sized layout though, I'm a noob just building a 6x4 and would like to ask what might be a silly question. I've heard the word BUS used quite abit but don't realy understand it, or at leas...

Re: Time to Tear It Up & Start Again ! New Steam Layout Pla

Hi Dr Strog, Just spent a very enjoyable couple of hours reading your thread from the start! :D I'm new to this and building a 6x4 at the minute but i'm just starting to look at possibilities in the loft, it seems that it is a similar design to yours, roof trusses wise anyway. I would just like to s...

Re: Chadwood - 00 loft layout

Hi dave, Just picked up your post on my thread, thought i'd drop by and have a closer look. :) Looks very good and i can certainly see how i could use my loft effectively now. I kind of like your idea of a split level affair but being a newbie aswell i don't fully understand the fundamentals of trac...

Re: Loxley Lane, 6x4, 00 layout

Thanks for that B&P I was thinking about chipping my little dc 0-4-0 at some point in the future so i'll probably just leave it alone until then... The two little shunters are great considering how much they actually cost each when you break down what's in the set. I was a bit put off initially ...

Re: First ever build, size is an issue!

Hi darren, Yes i decided to go DCC, the first set i bought was DC so i will eventually use that controller for powering lights and point motors, but the DCC control is great. takes a bit of getting used to though. As i've never had a "trainset" before, even DC is new to me but since i laid...

Re: First ever build, size is an issue!

Hi Leopard, I've just done a temp wiring link to the inner oval and that seems to be working fine, obviously sidings go dead when points are switched away so i think i'll need to take another link to the "yard area" so that i can still do shunting and leave something running around the inn...

Re: First ever build, size is an issue!

I've laid some track!!!! :D :D :D :D http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww116/Graymee1/IMGP0977.jpg Just finished laying out my trackplan, bought another set from my LMS and swapped the track in the box for bits that i needed and worked out a good deal for the lot. Decided to go for the DCC starter ...
