Re: Clicking nose from rails. Is it wise?

Thanks guys. As the layout is in my bed room there will be sunlight in the summer months so I put some gaps in the sections. Once I start work on the layout in the new year I post a WIP in the under construction forum.

Clicking nose from rails. Is it wise?

I have seen a lot of youtube movies of peoples layouts that have little gaps between each section of track to creat that "clicky, click" nose that happens in real live but is it wise to do it? Won't there be a loss of power for DCC? Plus they seem to do it on points as well. They seem to do...

Re: HORNBY 2013 RANGE RELEASED

It's only the Javelin that i am interested in, in the 2013 range. Most of the rest i want next year has been out a while like the Hornby Class 423 and Various Bachmann models. Still wish someone would do a Class 375/377 in southern and Southeastern. I think i am dreaming though.

Looking for info on the bachmann collector club?

Has anyone joined the Bachmann collectors club? Is it worth it and how much is it? I looked all over bachmann's site for info with zip. Also what do you get with the membership?

How would one model SR 3rd rail?

As I doing SR from anything from 70's to now, what's the easiest way of modelling 3rd rail? I know some don't bother and as this layout is for me only I shouldn't be bothered about the 3rd rail after all I am running a arriva Wales class 150 on a SR based layout. But I can't get the idea out of my h...

running in locos

Now according to my local modelzone (20 miles away) to run in a loco you should do it on a circle of track? So my question is how do you run in a loco if you don't have room for a circle of track and your layout like mine is end to end?

So where do you shop and why?

Ok i thought i ask about where people shop. So that people just starting might get an idea of where to go. Plus i am curious to see how many shop at the same places i do. So for me: Ehattons: As they are dirt cheap and there customer service is outstanding. Kernow: Not so much cheap but you can get ...

Dccing the Class 170

Has anyone DCC'ed the class 170 ? I am getting the Cross Country in the new year and thought about trying my hand at hardwiring the dcc decoder. I've found a few help guides on line but is it as hard as it looks? Also is the Express Models lighting set worth the £45 price tag? What do you get for yo...

Level crossings. None for code 75?

I have been looking at level crossings for my layout but hit a dead end. As I talked the other half in letting me go back to my original plan of using code 75 track but as far as I can see by searching there is no level crossings for this type of track. So how will one do it? I thought just get the ...

Express Models Class 170 lighting set question

I was thinking of getting the Express Models Class 170 Lighting set. What comes in the set? The website is not very forth coming. I know it comes with new lighting for the directional lighting with decoders, but does it come with a decoder for the motor? Plus does it include lighting for the interior?
