Re: Starting in 16mm scale

That is a very believable looking loco and looks good running on the layout.

Did you buy the chassis direct from Essel?

Re: Cwm Lydia Railway

28xx is a beast and I had the pleasure of haulage from the full size one at the G&WR last year.
Always felt the tender looked a little small compared with the loco though; maybe just a little low but easy enough to see over when travelling in reverse.

Who doesn't like the Ex-ROD 2-8-0 locos?

Not at all; Gauge O was always traditionally known as 'The Senior Scale' whilst Gauge 1 was 'The Premier Gauge'

Re: Southern O Gauge Loco's - information required please

...... Im very interested in the black shunter at the bottom. If its a southern beastie its not one ive seen before... I like it :) I think that it is a Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0 DM of a type supplied to the LMS although I think similar ones went to private industrial users too. Not sure of the kit man...

http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee497/ollienrs/IMG_0140.jpg Rivarossi DB BR80- may have been a kit: I had a friend who built an Indiana Harbor Belt 0-8-0 form a Rivarossi kit back in the 1980's and used it on his 10' long shunting layout! I found some info on the Rivarossi kit http://www.aerosc...

Re: Simple branch line

I echo the positive comments about this being a good thread to watch for lovers of small layouts.
Proves that you can almost always have enough room for a continuous run in OO if you are prepared to compromise.
Look forward to the layout really blossoming when the scenic work begins.

Hello petersam,

You mention a feed wire for continuous power - are you using DCC?

Re: Spare room OO Gauge from the 80s

will you be adding catenary to your layout? i just wondered with you having locos with pantographs! i think it would look better if you did. I think if you read through Ian then the layout has been dismantled for the best part of 20 years so the answer to your question may be a no unless he has a T...

Those close up shots show that the 57xx really is a beautiful loco - is it Bachmann/San Cheng?

Re: West Lulworth in O - Ivatt Project Pg4

Gearbox turned up for the Ivatt this week and will soon be fitted, as soon as I can find a tool suitable to remove the wheels! Sorry if I missed it earlier but is that a 2 or 3 stage gearbox and in what ratio? Also which motor are you pairing that with Tom? Always lots of questions from me I know :...

Class 25 for me 8)

Lots of childhood memories of seeing them almost everyday and hearing them on my two local lines.

Is this thread really in the correct section?

Re: Pedanticmongrel's New O Gauge Layout

Are those BR brake vans Slater's kits?

Just had a look in my Slater's BR 13T open kit and I have some of those funky vac pipes
