Re: A truly British Layout, constructed in France

A fantastic looking layout. Its a credit to you that I've been looking through the thread and only just noticed its in N. I just assumed it was OO.

Well done :)

Re: Starting again - new layout plan

I've revised my layout design to only one layer. It makes construction easier and reduces the total work required to get to a working layout sans scenery. I'm currently planning what services will be available from the North and South stations, how the passing loops on the east table will work and h...

Re: Man have I got my work cut out!!!!!!!!

Layout is coming along nicely. DO you have a problem with loft dust?

Re: Scorton (WCML)

Your layout is coming along nicely. I like watching the vids.

Can I ask if you have a problem with insulation dust being in your loft? I've got big problems with dust in mine right now.

Re: Wordsworth Begins

When you building the loft space, did you have any issues with insulation dust?

Cracking job by the way :)

Re: my first layout.no name yet

Was there anything interesting in Lord and Butler?

I live in West Wales and have got to go to Cardiff on Monday to swap out a dead PC for work. I'm planning on finishing ASAP and popping in to have a look.

Tidy layout BTW. :)

Re: Starting again - new layout plan

For the container terminal, my idea is that the freight uses the 3 lines coming from the main lines. I've placed a little gap between the main line and the closest freight line and I imagine having fencing between the two and room for the crane to move back and forth. I imagine having two trains in ...

Re: Starting again - new layout plan

Below is another incarnation of my plan. I've added extra through lines to north and south stations - not sure I want to keep the north addition but the south through line makes sense as it allows free passage of a refinery train into the refinery sidings without being stuck behind a passenger train...

Re: My modern OO layout idea

With the 1 in 30 gradient I'm going to struggle getting the reverse loop in. I was planning a 10 cm height change which is ok on the sides but the incline will be way to steep for the reverse loop.

Re: My modern OO layout idea

Considering a complete change in plan now. I like the original layout but it wasn't really going to allow the trains to really stretch their legs. My original plan was to have the layout at such a height (105cm) that the loft trusses etc wouldn't interfere. I've now thought if I lower the base to ar...

Re: 00 in 8ft by 6ft garden shed will it go

Is the polystyrene for insulation?

I ask because I've had to remove some of my loft insulation to lay my boards down and was going to some thin sheets of something over the trusses to make it look tidy. I would like to put some insulation of some sort in between the trusses.

Re: My modern OO layout idea

If you are going to have set-track raduis curves why not use set-track? :) I'm getting confused. Is set track different from code 75 and 100? I've been told to avoid insulfrog points so am going to buy electrofrog points but as far as I know Peco only do an electrofrog double slip on code 75. I wil...
