Re: pick ups? help

Hi Glen, Both PedanticMongrel and I would both give rave reviews for the finescale brass plunger pickups if you're running in the garden. Wipers, especially fragile small wire strips get dirty very easily and are more trouble than they're worth. If there is space for some accepting holes to be drill...

Re: Whimsey Hill, BR(S) in 00: New Loco Pg7

Hi Tim, Thanks alot! I believe the track layout was "borrowed" from someone either on here or RMWeb who was exploring the idea of a country terminus, I liked the use of the double slip, and doing some research on local stations such as Mayfield, the goods yard was added on. As a side thing...

Re: Burniston Station by PeterH; a question on signalling - p.50

The smaller subsidiary arms are sometimes complete with an S or a circle on or around the white strip to signify a subsidiary.

Re: Burniston Station by PeterH; a question on signalling - p.50

Seems fine to me, Peter!

You shouldn't need any signals in the goods yard as they tend to be hand operated points and not really seen on a signalling diagram.

I presume the single line section signals or limit of shunt boards are off scene too?

Re: Whimsey Hill, BR(S) in 00: New Loco Pg7

Thanks Chris!

Its an angle I haven't tried before, i was trying to get a sort of "local train in the bay" feel.

The layout really needs the backscene back though!

Anyway, I'm back at Uni for a few weeks so there may be a little lull in things again!

Re: Whimsey Hill, BR(S) in 00: New Loco Pg7

What livery were you after, Matt? I'm guessing SECR lined etc? Then again if you'd have ordered last year it would have taken this long to get it! Thanks Kenny! She is a much needed addition to the layout being probably one of the only locos that would have run the line (if it were real). First impr...

Re: Fletching Station

Of course Sheffield Park used to have a narrow gauge line to the Saw Mills from the "bay" platform where the new shed is going in, so ties in quite nicely! Seems a little interesting, this project. This means we'll have Horsted Keynes, Fletching and "Whimsey Hill" which are all b...
