Same here nick,my earliest memories of trains is seeing 37s and 56s at Warrington Bank Quay and Arpley Yard,that was about 1999 so I decided to model the railway I have seen so far in my lifetime-Hence Arpley Street. :)

Adding buildings can make a flat railway board look much more realistic,placed at the side of roads but you can also add hills by making card formers,filing them with news paper and then add a layer of newspaper taped to the formers and them cover it with plaster cloth before adding scenic scatters ...
