I like the helicopters, might start me thinking about putting in a Heliport. I like model helicopters too: they are legitimate things to find on model railways as they don't require the inconvenient vastness of a runway! Corgi models make superb 1:72 helicopters, not all of which are military. I've...

Ah! Thank you. I'll just go back to murdering Flanders pigeons, then, shall I?

Nice photo, Terry - very effective job done with the ballast. How did you make the flowering bushes we see (and admire!)?

Some more pics for you, this time exploring some of Hornby's newer, really-nice-quality stuff... http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii283/Blackmarlin84/PlymouthJinty01.jpg http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii283/Blackmarlin84/LMSMilkWagons.jpg http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii283/Blackmarlin84/...

To continue with our mildly scurrilous digression, here's a photo entitled 'Getting Stoked'...!

The layout's looking very fine, Terry! I like the Metcalfe buildings - I use them too, and they really add to the realism. Plus, of course, being cardboard they're so easy to modify and individualise. I have a question for you - how did you make / where did you get the station name-boards? I could u...

My efforts weren't helped by my terminology. "Gavin, what are you doing up there?" "Grass." "What?" "Err...weed?" Not good. Not good at all... I suppose it didnt help when you called down for food saying You'd got the " Mungeees" then  :shock...

Agree - like the LNER livery - I especially like the Flying Scotsman picture with the tufts of grass- great idea! Right. Been home, messed about with foliage, and persuaded my Dad (who has a much nicer camera than I do) to take some pictures. So to get things going, here are a few of everyone's favourite Gresley A3, The Flying Scotsman. Enjoy! http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii283/Blackmarlin84/FlyingScotsma...

Having messed about with Microsoft Paint, here is an extremely crude and not-at-all-to-scale trackplan for Starlingford. Hopefully this will help everyone - not least me - orient themselves in further posts. http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii283/Blackmarlin84/ExtremelyRoughTrackplan.jpg (Going ho...

 Words fail me. This is, simply, everything I ever want to achieve with a layout! Some of the really deceptively unobtrusive stuff, like the overgrown track and the trees overhanging the lines, are just too perfect! Two pieces of information that may be of use: 1. The Hornby apple trees used ...

I've decided I hate ebay snipers. This is the third time in as many weeks I've bid on Intercity Swallow-liveried Mk4 coaches, only to have been outbid at the last possible second. As a result I'm still bereft of rolling stock. Sorry for venting all over the place, but I suspect most of you out there...
