Re: London loft build

Am in need of a trip here http://bit.ly/1nVZ9Rv this morning. Maybe after I go to Wickes to get some bendy ply for the track base on the slope.

Re: London loft build

Well I wasn't happy with what I had done so up it came (again) and then I tried using some set track as a template for the harder parts: http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd289/lozstlouis/DSC_0690_zpsd7nag1ji.jpg And it came out quite well. Although its a little tight in set track terms so I soften...

Re: London loft build

Having a rethink already... This vid shows the current state. https://youtu.be/c42lnRpacQs I am going to not continue with this track layout. You can see some of it isn't right. Have had a better idea. Going to ditch the mid loop/centre run around and make it into a station terminus. Then at the rea...

A dab of wood filler, sanded flush & they'll vanish. If you want to go that far!

Re: Flex Track Question

I cheated and only used it for straight pieces, I couldn't be pfaffed using track pins to hold the curves in place whilst the pva dries, nor the effort in getting the curves right. I admit I am lazy, and save my stress threshold for other things on the layout of more interest to me Someone who thin...

Re: London loft build

So its been a few years since I laid flexi. This version of the layout I wanted to use code 75. So its all flexi - other than pointwork. So I cracked out my Tracksetta things and set to it: http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd289/lozstlouis/A735E938-C7BF-4CB2-82E4-E284C0AD4B09_zpsrdt05enh.jpg All t...

Re: London loft build

I am a spark (albeit out of date) - so that made it a bit easier. I created a spur from another upstairs socket and ran a 2.5mm twin & earth in the wall cavity so its all hidden from the long haired general. That gives me 13a or 3kw to play with up there. Plenty for model railway activities. In ...
