Re: First layout - Sneyd Green Halt

I would have put that CDU under the board or at the very least are you going to cover it over?
Drop a screwdriver or something metal on it and you could get a bit of a shock, literally

Re: OO. DCC. Setrack....Canon Dale Colliery

Dont take it personally but I am not a fan of the basket liner :( Its just there is a bit too much of it,it doesn't look quite right either, maybe it does need "fluffing" up but it just looks like what it is to me. Maybe with some other scenery on it it will look better,I know you are still...

Re: Lordsbridge

If I were to do a loft layout I would make it 2-3 tracks on a elevated board and make it loop around the whole loft with just a small area where there would be a village/station where it would be operated from. The tracks would go through a tunnel either end of the board and disappear into the darkn...

Re: My N gauge layout

It would be interesting to see your talents put to use on a larger layout. 8) Well, made my dad a smaller one a while ago http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=21368&st=0&sk=t&sd=a Am working on my one currently with a view to finishing it and selling it on...

Re: My N gauge layout

CAn you point me in the direction of the kits? I have Hornby ones but the 2D nature of the actually armatures makes them look really poor on the layout... I'll probably use them for filling out areas in the end, with better quality trees as centre points. http://www.ecscenics.co.uk/index1.html The ...

Re: My N gauge layout

Trees are easy, but messy :D I got a "tree kit" for my dads layout that consisted of 21 tree armatures and foliage to go on them. The only problem was out of the 21 trees only 7 were 3 inches or so,the rest were quite small and didn't come out very well  This time I got a seperate bag ...

Re: My N gauge layout

Today I will mostly be making trees! Re: My N gauge layout

Still here! Some other things have distracted from my own layout recently (building my dad his for a start!) but I am doing a few more bits to this. Ordered a couple of Woodland Scenics tree kits to redo the "toilet brush" trees I wasn't happy with :( having used them on my dads layout the...
