Re: Crimple Beck Station

I have done the exact same damage to my old 00 gauge track in the past. In the end I drove the nail in so far and then used the tip of a phillips screwdriver as a punch to knock them in the last bit. I did try using a proper nail punch but all that did was continually bend the pins,at least with the...

Re: My N gauge layout

Back from the dead  Finally ordered some new locos, sold the ones I had before. Also ordered some new lights from CR Signals to replace the existing ones, some of them had got bent from my careless elbows and one got so damaged it didn't work anymore  I am also going to try and get a stati...

Re: NCE Powercab Transformer Question

So with the NCE Powercab, what is the solution when running say 4 trains on your layout if only the last 2 are 'in the stack'? Say you want to adjust the speed of 1 of the trains not in the stack and bring the other 1 not in the stack to a halt at a station? See my previous answers. You can only ac...

Re: Glentruss Halt - A '00' DCC layout ?

Maybe they assume that you would pour the "water" into an empty area so it wouldn't coat everything that was already there?

Re: NCE Powercab Transformer Question

I got the NCE in the end and whilst it works there is an obvious drawback that only becomes apparent when you use it. Basically you can only actively control 2 locos at a time. You can set others running but if you then start another couple going when you try to go back to the first one the control...

Re: Rimenough MPD

Dont take it personally (difficult I know :D ) but without a track plan I would be hard pushed to tell the difference between the new layout and the old one  I suppose people have a certain "style" that they stick to without realising. When I used to work in the warehouse people al...

Re: Hollycroft - N Gauge First Attempt - Beerandpies

I converted my layout to DCC once all the track was laid AND ballasted  Not the easiest thing to do but I managed to solder to the sides of the rails,it's isn't very neat in places but you would be hard pushed to tell the wires were there at all without looking really close. I would have thou...

Re: Pontypool Road (BR Western Region) OO Model Railway

If you make many more holes in that baseboard they will all join together like a fault line and the whole layout will collapse in on itself like a mini earthquake

Re: 2ft x 2ft N Gauge Layout

A quick progress report - None! Not strictly true as I have finally picked up my 08 shunter and purchased a 108 DMU to use as my rural service around the loop. The 108 will be converted to NSE colours eventually but right now it's still in BR Blue. Also picked up some point motors and wiring looms ...

Re: My N Gauge Layout - Halecross Park

I would say a gradient is do-able in a 5ft space, barks went quite high with his but you could do half that height in 5ft and it would still be high enough. Yes it is challenging to do but thats partly the idea, instead of just hammering track down quickly to get something you could take your time an...

Re: My N Gauge Layout - Halecross Park

Dont take this the wrong way but I dont like the new plan  Too many sidings for the sake of it,some of them are a bit too short to be of any real practical use. If I had that much space I would make an elevated section similar to what barks did. http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/vie...
