Re: My next N gauge layout!

Had a big box of stuff delivered yesterday  Spent most of last night laying track although I got towards the end and wondered why I was suddenly a piece missing  Got up to look and realised I had been sitting on it and bent it  so had to go down town this morning to get a repla...

Re: Peco Pl-11

I have got 4 to come for my new N gauge layout, like you they are in non scenic areas so it wont matter that they are a bit big

I painted them then weathered them a bit with Carr’s powders.

 I liked the idea of weathered sheep.

Re: My next N gauge layout!

I have just ordered everything to complete the track  I am also going to use the Peco PL-11 surface mounted point motors for the 4 points that will be out of easy reach. These are a bit on the large side to use with N gauge points but they are in areas that aren't scenic so it isn't going t...

Re: 6x4 Starter layout - Upper level

I like the upper level, almost gives me an idea for my new N gauge layout
Unless I missed it in reading is the upper section done on some kind of foam base?

Re: My next N gauge layout!

Excellent stuff so far fella. A nice simple track plan and a high standard of care and craftsmanship: always a very good combination in model railways I find :) Look forward to seeing more. Have you a specific idea about scenery and buildings, etc yet? Cheers Tim A vague idea about the scenery woul...

Re: My next N gauge layout!

I got some track yesterday and today so I have been able to lay the outer most loop along with a small other section. It's only stuck down with double sided tape so far but I will probably pin it down at some point as well to make sure it is really solid given that only the scenic part will be balla...

Re: Hollycroft - N Gauge First Attempt - Beerandpies

Beerandpies,is the Farish Voyager a nice runner? Wanted to get one for my up coming layout and wondered what they are like. Doesn't it have a mid mounted power car? Always prefered for power cars to be at the front, the thought of something pushing from the middle or back makes me think it is more pr...

Re: My next N gauge layout!

Due to the lack of track I had another attack at my baseboard  I decided to add some more braces breaking up the board into almost 1ft squares. The middle vertical braces are the additions I made, they are only glued in though but given the strenght of the glue they will hopefully add to the...

Re: My next N gauge layout!

Well that idea for the weekend was short lived  Went to town to get some of the track only to find instead of the 9 pieces of one of the curves I needed they only had 1. I had checked it last night and today before I went out and it said they had 9. Went in the shop and they had 1,the guy said...

Re: Bachmann 6 Pin decoders

After using these decoders for a while they are okay but do seem to be very "sensitive" When I go over some sections of my track sometimes the lights will go out on my class 47 and 108,it never does it in the same place and no matter how much I clean the track it still does it but never in...

Re: My next N gauge layout!

Sounds good Smallman, if your last layout was anything to go by, this should be a stunner :) So its about 6tfx2ft? 6ft gives quite a nice run, especially if you prefer running short to meduim lenght trains. Although you might struggle to get over 8 or so coaches (+Loco) in. Keep it up mate, Ste Just...

Re: My next N gauge layout!

I got in from work last night at about 8pm then spent till 12.30am this morning building the baseboard  I got a bit carried away,I was only going to do a bit to get a head start but once I started I just kept going  although getting up at 5.30 this morning didn't prove easy. Going to...

Re: Bachmann 6 Pin decoders

Hi folks This is my first post so please be gentle with me!!! I've installed 2 of the new Bachmann chips in a new Farish class 150 and although the motor works fine, the lights are not working correctly as when travelling forward, both ends have white head lights and when going backwards, both are ...
