Looking good! The new city backscene fits in well and I like how you have done the backscene at the end of the road too.

Re: First Avenue - Modern OO Freightliner - Now with sound
My latest purchase arrived today, so no time was wasted getting it fitted into 66532. An ESU Loksound sound chip! Only a temporary fit at the moment as it will need a soundbox fitting to improve things, but I couldn't resist a couple of videos despite the poor light. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w...

Re: First Avenue - Modern OO Freightliner - Now with sound
As it was such a lovely day today, I decided to make the most of it and brought First Avenue onto the decking for its first daylight outing. Gave the tracks a much needed thorough cleaning and couldn't resist playing trains for a while! Then got on with replacing some of the damaged ballast from boa...

Just a quick photo before bed to show progress so far. Apologies for the poor quality as I didn't have time to get the camera out and had to use the iPad.

Re: First Avenue - Modern OO Freightliner - Now with sound
My brother has made a good start to the shed design and delivered the first sheets which are the outside pieces and doors. He is still working on the roof and inside pieces but at least I have something to get started on now. Now where do I start? http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y18/daverandle/f742...

Re: Introducing Sandown Road
Nice loft room you have there Tim. I like the way you have run the shelving idea around the room to maximise the space left for storage, etc. and then concentrating on one main scenic board. If you are anything like the rest of us on here you will change your mind quite often, but at least you will ...

Re: Valentine - Building Progress
I also have a similar loft, in which I was building my Chadwood layout. This is now on hold whilst I moved into the shed to build First Avenue, a smaller exhibition size layout. I am very interested to see how your loft remodelling turns out. I can't tell from the pics how much headroom you will hav...

Lovely micro layout and a neat website too.
Just shows that layouts don't have to be huge to show off some nice detailing and operational interest.
Have a great cruise!

Geoff
I had thought about using card or plasticard for the infill, but I wasn't sure that I would be able to make a neat job of all of the curves. If I was doing straights I would definately have gone that way.

Re: First Avenue - Modern OO Freightliner - Now with sound
Hi Mike I browsed the forums for quite a while too, but still couldn't decide the best way forward. In the end I have bought some fine filler from Toolstation and added a teaspoonful of black paint to it and thoroughly mixed. This made it a reasonably light grey. I am quite pleased with the colour f...

Managed to grab half an hour in the shed today to make a little more progress with the 'concrete' laying and to take a couple of pics. Quite pleased with the results so far, but lots of track cleaning needed before anything's going to be running around here. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y18/dave...

You've made a good job of the Scalescenes crane Kev. I started one ages ago but have never got round to finishing it.
I wish I could think of a way of motorising it! lol

Blimey! You've got lots of jobs on the go. Plant pots, water main, skylights ... Oh yes and some modelling! lol I had though about buying one of those ballasting things and in the end I made my own out of some plastic I had lying around, but to be honest I resorted to the manual method in the end. I...

Re: First Avenue - Modern OO Freightliner - Now with sound
My brother popped round at the weekend to try out his prototype scratch build of the shed end. A little tweaking to the size is required (as I changed the sizes and forgot to tell him!) but it looked great. We then spent another hour discussing all of the finer details that need adding. I have helpe...
