Re: N'spirations10 now available

I'm not sure what you mean - the back page is the back cover (pages 63 & 64) and part of the thicker front cover wrap around. The sheet inside the back will be pages 61 on one side & 62 on the other. Just check the number 61 printed on the bottom of it.

Re: Older Lima N gauge

Quite honestly, with the very rare exception, Lima N gauge stuff is pretty dreadful from both accuracy as a scale model and giving decent performance perspective. But there are just one or two exceptions in the wagon range. However, I'd recommend not bothering with any of the locos, unless you're a ...

Re: marquee

Um, the same way you scratch build anything! If you're new to it, have you thought about maybe joining a local club? Start with measuring up a real one. If it's 30 feet wide, that scales down to 60mm in N-scale/2mm:1ft. Look at how it's constructed. Poles and cross-pieces. Can you mimic that frame ...

Re: marquee

Dunno where you can buy one, but it sounds like the sort of thing that would be very easy to make from paper.

Re: Dapol HST - Any good?

Over lubrication can be as bad as no lubrication and is probably not the thing to experiment with further - just a very small amount of light synthetic (non-mineral based) oil is rerquired and under no circumstances allow it to come in contact with the motor commutator.

N'spirations10 now available

This is just a heads up for those interested that N'spiratrions10 is now available. Batches on ebay and supplies to be delivered to the usual stockists, plus it should be available at the Stafford show this weekend from N Brass Loco and County Rolling Stock/N'tastic shop. http://img171.imageshack.us...

But planning is great fun, and there's no big risks and costs. :D

Let me snuggle down in to my armchair with pen and paper and start daydreamng about that perfect layout again.

Re: dear santa...

All i want for Christmas is for Dapol or Bachman/Farish to produce a Maunsell mogul in n gauge. That's just wish listing new products - which we've just had as a thread; http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=40238 For Christmas you can really only ask Santa to bring y...

Re: shrink ray for the 419 mlv single baggage unit???

Eventually, but they've already got a massive backlog of announced, but still being developed, new products - so I'd assume it'll be some time yet.

In the meantime TPM do a kit for the MLV; http://www.tpmodels.co.uk/otheremu.html

Re: 2013 wishlist

GWR Mogul GWR Castle Hawksworth coaches GWR 4700 Dapol's new streamlined railcar going through the shrink-ray. City of Truro Predicatable and not very adventurous. I think it's really time for something a little more different, especially from a dull and boring G*R diet - how about some LT U...

Re: N gauge coupling question.

The person who asked me, has no N gauge stuff at the moment, and was watching me modifying OO couplings for uncoupling with a magnet. Their flat has only limited space, and "N" seemed to be a sensible choice, so with a bit of luck, they can select something that works, right from the outs...

Re: N gauge coupling question.

TPM/ATM have a NEM socket that simply clips in place on their N gauge bogies (as an alternative to Rapido sockets) so there is a NEM socket available for bogies. I'm sure it would be east to fit on to other bogies and thus providing a clip-in mount for the Dapol easi-shunt couplers. All new stock is...
