Thanks Chief, i've never ballasted before in N, only ever cheated with the foam underlay. I thought it looked a tad messy. I've since tidied up, removed the excess etc. Ah yes, the close coupling, that is a homemade job and is permanently coupled. Basically 2 standard couplings with the end removed ...

Nice! Very nice! I'm personally not a fan of modern image (in my mind, modern image peaked in 1973!) but the trackplan is beautiful and the detail shown so far is just a taster of how good this layout will be!

Update:

I've started prepping the board for track laying...i've printed out the AnyRail plan to full size and glued it directly to the board as a template...i've also started some basic scenic work on the board....pics to follow...

Yes chief, it will be live frog, in fact the track has been purchased and laying will commence very soon.....a push pull would be amazing, do you know if the carriages are available, either as a kit or ready to run?

Thanks Chief. Pretty tiny i'm afraid, a MK1 and CCT, but i think that's more in keeping with a declining branch line.
