Re: Lima GWR Parcels Railcar

I believe the serial number is L204913. I have tried (and am still trying) to find a technical sheet online but so far without any success. Doubt any existed, after all the majority of UK Lima bogie motive power was pretty much the same mechanically - a motor bogie clipped into the chassis with a w...

Re: Any hints and tips when using flexi-track?

If using a set of Xuron track cutters its best to cut fractionally overside IME as their is often a burr on the end of the rail that needs filing down. If using a cutting disc in a drill watch that the chuck is not touching the rail otherwise you will get a slight depression created in the rail. An ...

Re: Hornby 2019 Catalogue Errors

Something obviously wrong on page 70 - the B17s cannot all be the same length given the different tenders involved. There is also supposed to a NEM symbol next to models with NEM coupling sockets but it only appears for wagons. On the other hand they have used two symbols (old and new versions) next...

Re: 2019 Catalogue Announcement

With the new SECR C class on its way there has been an influx onto eBay of people trying to cash in on the high going rate  Bachmann have released a list of expected release dates this year and the C does not feature, neither do any of the new tooling multiple units (possibly be made this year...

Re: Bachmann Gresley 2-6-2-T connecting rod problem

Replacement centre axles may be available from Bachmann (and probably cheaper than Peters Spares). To get to the wheels undo the centre two screws on the underside - if the plastic base plate remains fixed in place it undo the next two screws which hold the pony trucks to the base plate - keep a not...

Re: 2019 Catalogue Announcement

Excellent, how did I miss those? Quite easily, Bachmnn never announce what they are going to make in the next x months, they announce what they are adding to the range which may get produced in the next x months but may not; consequently what actually turns up from them each year is a mixture of mo...

Re: Oxford Rail N7

Think they are last to be released due to different firebox. I would have thought the sensible thing would have been to do them first. Not necessarily as its probably going to the more popular model - release the GER Grey one first and it get bought by those who must have the new release first rega...

Re: 2019 Catalogue Announcement

The next three locos after the new releases in 2019, see my posting earlier in the thread, (ie for release probably in 2020 ) will presumably be the MR 0-4-4T, 94xx and Class 20/3 on which they are expecting be engineering prototypes by March in the case of the two steam locos and a by summer for th...

Re: 2019 Catalogue Announcement

Hmm. The OO for 2019 is all reliveries of existing models, nothing from newly introduced tooling unless I am very much mistaken. And the 2019 catalogue tends toward reliveries of older tooling too. Where are the quite recent Stanier 'porthole' and Thompson gangwayed coaches in BR maroon? Bachmanns ...

Re: Dcc switch points

You either need a point motor with a dcc decoder built into it http://www.gaugemaster.com/item_details.asp?code=GMC-PM20D or a normal point motor connected to an accessory module (numerous on the market including Hornby R8247 https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/accessory-decoder.html) Which normal point mo...

Re: 2019 Catalogue Announcement

Bachmann made a loss on the SECR fully lined C when it was first issued due to the costs of its decoration so its no real surprise at the price now, particularly given that they are quoting for the CR Lined Blue 0-6-0 for Rails. They do have a huge backlog of previous announced new models and schedu...

Re: Hornby 2019 Range Speculation Thread

I'd really like to keep to just one manufacturer, mainly to avoid any troubles with differnt couplings, but this apparent scarcity of Box Vans from Hornby makes it seem rather difficult. Should not be necessary to just stick to Hornby - admittedly their have always been slight differences in tensio...

Re: Dapol OO Gauge GWR Large Prairie & GWR Mogul.

Hornby have of course doubled up vs Dapol. There is an all new Terrier coming from Hornby too

The Dapol Terrier is a commission by Rails/NRM/Locomotion and it could have been any manufacturer
