Re: Hornby r3273 9F Franco Crosti boiler
So, anyone posting a picture of one? I didn't cos I have to limit what I pick up now & FrancoCrosti locos didn't survive into preservation. Its a great model & accurate, but I think that like the Garrett, its just really ugly. Certainly wouldn't want to buy it then go off it at a later stage...

Re: BR standard 4MT mogul (2-6-0) 76xxx
Picking this old thread up, I have just nabbed one of the few remaining moguls on offer at Hattons. Sadly, I offloaded my 76079 so am going to do 76084 on this later version of the model. I gather Horwich painted the real thing a slightly different way but I wont let this put me off. Nice little Jan...

Re: I must stop spending!
Noticed that Hattons were shifting their Bachmann 4MT a bit quick so it forced my hand to just buy one in this last hour. £76 gone like that, but I think it would have been daft to leave any longer.

00 "BRITISH RAILWAYS" 4mm transfers....
Ive had a look around & had trouble finding anyone who produces these. Looking to find a pair in grey to do a tender for an A4 in the infamously short lived ultramarine blue/experimental purple livery. Already have the red/grey lining from Modelmaster, but Jim doesn't extend further with those t...

Re: Replacing hook(s) on my Railroad 9F
As a replacement, I was considering the Bachmann 36-009 coupling.

Replacing hook(s) on my Railroad 9F
I'm missing the hook on the tender of a Hornby 9F & wondering whether to take them off at both ends.Maybe stick NEMs at both ends & use the Bachmann Mk1 couplings (ex Mainline).
Perhaps just hunt a spare down & replacing might be a better plan?
Its one of those held by a rivet.

Re: Bachmann P2 ?.
It would be a great opportunity if they did do a P2, but one like Mons Meg with the A4 shape/styling

Re: Big "up" for Bachmann :)
They're superb. Just picked up an old Crepello model but it lacked a pair of cabside windows. Shawplan couldn't help but luckily Bachmann had a pair (had to have the white quarter lights) Had to pay for spares with PayPal as they wouldn't take credit/debit cards but Im pleased to say the deltic is r...

Re: Hornby vs Bachmann A4
Who is in the thinking that if you get the Mallard it as to be in blue LNER & not in BR Green ?. I personally don't mind either & ought to leave my next RR 60022 just as it is (Dad has my 4468). The last one got altered to 024 Kingfisher as a fictitiously preserved loco (along with an ultra...
