Re: Bachmann thomas the tank

Although I have already got a Bachmann Toby for Alfie's future layout,I think I may indulge myself with one for my own as well.
Got a couple of spare four-wheelers he can pull & although they're Hornbys,I have tried with this loco before & they've been ok.

Re: Bachmann thomas the tank

The marketing thing is entirely the fault of HIT Entertainment & anyone else involved with the franchising aspect. I got the original series of books in a boxset for £28 when I was working at a Care Home(one of these bookclub groups who bring around items to sell once a month). I also had most ...

Re: Bachmann thomas the tank

Ditto the Toby Tram,I got one recommended to me by an NRM member & it's better-looking than the Hornby effort(which looks too big in comparison)
Shame that Bachmann don't make a standard version of this without the Toby face/number etc?

Re: What should Hornby make next?

What should Hornby make next ? why Hornby ? what about Bachmann, what should they make next ? Personally, from my own point of view, I would like to see either Hornby or Bachmann produce a Blue Pullman. Failing that, then both companies introducing a range of Dmu/Emu's and possibly a few Electric l...

Re: Whats your favourite livery for a loco??

STEAM: Has to be A4s in Garter Blue.

DIESEL: Never been able to single out a favourite, but the Deltic green scheme with white cabins takes the edge

Couple for the 31 Grey/Yellow enthusiasts

Had a quick nip up the road & got some shots of this one. It's actually the first time I've seen this operating on the line. 31207 in Railfreight grey.Close-up,she's a bit tatty & the grey paint isn't an entirely even finish. But boy, does this one knock the power out on the straight.Very imp...

If nobody minds, then I'll happily put in a positive comment. I haven't experienced anything but goodwill from the members I've spoken to. Always happy to add anything(despite being very inexperienced at Railway Modelling) I've but received nothing but very positive, constructive & useful advice f...

I've got the 101 & bought it from a Buy It Now Offer (recommended to me by someone). Have yet to run it(not even got a layout yet cos we're moving in 12 days time;I'll be starting a loft-effort myself) but a workpal of mine says it's a nice effort as he'd got one from the same dealer. It'll be n...

from browsing through this thread,is that Bachmann 108 DMU the one with the working interior lights etc(a 2-Car set)?
If so,I've got my sights set on one of these.
Is it as good as it's been described?

I always liked the Class 101 but then they always ran along the line I could see from my old back skylight in Sheringham.I know it's sentimental but it was the 1st time we'd had a working railway line quite near to us(we'd lived in deepest Suffolk so the nearest station to us was Dullingham, near New...
