Re: Rare

Is it still available or is it not as there are not many results on the internet is it a rare model with only so many made or something. I don't have a date for when this model was released, but if your looking for one, there's one for sale at East Midlands Models at the link below. http://www.east...

Re: How many lifting jacks are typically used raising a loco ?

As the title question states, how many loco jacks are used ? I would imagine 4 jacks is the obvious answer, but are there exceptions where more either side of loco would be used for heavier loco's or major chassis work ? & also where would the typical jacking points be ? ... (as on a motor vehi...

Re: Traction tyres - degrading ..

Will try new traction tyres first - as I have some spare for a Lima Vac (50) that I bought minus traction tyres.

Will they fit OK ? - the bogies and wheels diameters appear to be the same....

The power bogie that's fitted to the Lima Class 50 is identical to the Lima Class 55 (Deltic).

Re: Mainline Class 45s

On much the same lines as the reply from Mike Parkes, avoid the Mainline model then, never the best mechanism and most are going to be over 30 years old, and these things don't improve with age. All the Bachmann models have their near 'bombproof' centre motor chassis which is very reliable and pull...

Re: DCC Engines don't move

Does anyone know if the Dynamis System can run a DC loco as well....? thanks in advance Ashish In a word, NO! the Dynamis controller does not allow you to run a DC locomotive. If you do place a DC locomotive on the track, all you get isa buzzing sound and if you leave the locomotive on the track fo...

Re: Class 25 problem ???

I got the digial passenger set to get going. It's had a few hours running straight from the box all in the same direction. Tonight I tryed it in the other direction and it sounds like it derailed only it isn't. The noise is coming from the motor as if summit is catching, but then is fine in the oth...

Re: Complete Lima stock list

Hi Yes, that is right. Lima did bring out limited editions. A friend of mine has a Lima Porterbrook liveried Deltic. The purple colour surprisingly suits the lines of the Deltic very well. Not sure what year this comes from though. L205260 #9016 "The Gordon Hughlander" Porterbrook Purple ...

Re: Hornby Class 56 mystery

I would suggest that the model you have purchased is a hybrid of one of the original Palitoy (mainline) Chassis and a new Hornby body. If the model was entirely Hornby it would almost certainly have the Hornby trademark underneath. Correct, Metadyneman. It's unlikely that Hornby would have released...

Re: Hornby Class 155 Sprinter

Thank you for your reply, K9-70, but I am a little confused. I have looked for the couplings you suggest online and on the Hornby website, but cannot seem to find them. I know this is not an NEM model, and the only non-NEM couplings I can find are these: http://www.hornby.com/rolling-stock-87/r8099...

Re: Hornby Class 155 Sprinter

Hello everyone, After many years of my old set being stored in the attic I have decided to return to the hobby of model railroads. I have an old Hornby 155 Sprinter, which is missing some couplings. Would anyone be able to provide me with the proper model number or even perhaps an internet link for...
